How to control employee shifts and cash operations

Without proper shift and cash control, end-of-day sales totals may differ from actual cash and card payments.

Cash control and payment terminal

Opening a shift

When an employee starts a shift, the start time and opening cash are recorded, linking all sales during that period to the shift.

Linking sales to shifts

Session payments, product sales and services are collected within the shift. Cash and card payments are shown separately for accurate reconciliation.

Expected and actual cash

The system calculates expected cash from sales. At shift close, the actual amount is entered and any discrepancy appears in the daily report.

Transparency and daily reporting

Storing each shift’s results shows who worked, when they worked, how much they sold and whether cash discrepancies occurred.

Cash control is not a punishment mechanism; when set up correctly, it creates transparency for both employees and owners.

Freedom Platform can be adapted to your business to combine shift, sales and cash data in one workflow.
